Next regular meeting tentatively scheduled for May 28, 2026
Treasures report provided for the month of March 2026
The Village of Westbury received a grant and donated it to the Co-op toward community and physical wellness. The Co-op accepted the donation and will use it toward the maintenance and additions of the recreational amenities.
The vendor contract was approved for one day’s work to repair priority potholes. The maintenance committee will work in tandem with the vendor to get as many repaired as possible during that workday.
The pool service and maintenance contract was approved for the 2026 season. A new pump will be installed.
The tentative opening of the Pool for the 2026 season is the 3rd week in June. Once we have volunteers to open and close daily, and a schedule has been finalized, the firm date will be announced. Only Westbury Co-op residents, along with their guests, are permitted to use the pool.
A Westbury community communication board outside the mailroom was approved by the Board, contingent on 2 volunteers regularly monitoring and maintaining the posted content. If you are interested in signing up to be a volunteer, please contact [email protected]
The Social Committee will provide refreshments to volunteers on Green Up Day in the afternoon. The maintenance committee canceled Westbury Green Up Day for May 2nd due to the weather forecast. We will post the new date as soon as possible. There was some outdoor work planned that needed a dry day. Volunteers are welcome to come and help spruce up our lovely park. Please contact [email protected].
Tree service for 2026 has been performed. The Leach field replacements for the 2026 FY are being completed; however, for any emergency issues with either, please contact PMA at (802) 860-3315 and email at [email protected]. The next group of electric upgrades and leach field replacements is in the planning stage.
We have identified 2 of the vehicle speeders, and CPD has contacted them with a warning. The Co-op has sent a notice warning and informed them that, if it is reported again at any time moving forward, legal action will be taken. Please obtain the license plate number of any vehicles that are violating the community rules. Your identity will be strictly confidential.
There were 2 car break-ins this week. CPD has been notified. Please keep your car doors locked, and if you see any suspicious activity or you have security cameras and notice any suspicious activity, please contact PMA or a Board member immediately. You will then not have to identify yourself to CPD if you would like to remain anonymous.
We will be receiving our property tax Town letter very soon. If you do not think your reassessment has been calculated equitably and accurately, please contact Grace at CDI. [email protected] for information.
To appeal a property tax assessment in Colchester, VT, you must submit a written grievance to the Town Assessor within 14 days of the Grand List lodging, typically in June. Written, signed appeals (via email, mail, or online portal) must include your contact info, parcel ID (address) and reasons for appeal. This is extremely important to note because the Colchester mail has been falling behind, and it’s my understanding that they will not make any exceptions to the 14-day time frame imposed.
The maintenance committee met to discuss catch basin clearing, brush chipping, tennis court maintenance and improvements, replacement of the road sign that disappeared after the snowstorm, replacement of the office roof heat tape, regular field maintenance throughout the spring & summer, and pool area and vehicle maintenance. Volunteers to help with the grounds are needed and appreciated.
A warm welcome to our new neighbors on Wexford and 2 homes on Wavely.
Happy Spring and mud season, at least it’s not snow ; )
