Westbury June 2023 Recap

The next regularly scheduled Board meeting is July 27, 2023

The treasurer’s report was provided. The Finance Committee met twice in June to review the proposed budget for 2023/24. The final draft will be presented to the Board next month for approval and placed on the ballot for the August Annual Membership Meeting. Financials are available to Co-op members upon request.

The pool opened as scheduled on June 16, 2023, on the same day school ended. The Volunteer/Social Committee greeted the kiddos as they exited their buses with a personalized congratulatory card, a mylar balloon, and a treat. Gaga Ball & Bounce house, karaoke, and many had lots of fun being the first to take a swim in the pool for the 2023 season.

The June 24th Summer Celebration 4th Co-op anniversary event was rescheduled for July 8th due to predictions of rain, lightning & thunder.

Electrical upgrades on Coventry have not been completed. Still waiting on transformers.

Greenbriar upgrade not completed. Waiting for GMP to hook up to the meter bank.

Leach field replacements for failed leach fields are in the design and permitting phase.

ARPA Healthy Home Initiative grant to perform a water/sewer/wastewater study has been awarded to our co-op and the Board will begin the selection of engineers to conduct the study as soon as the funds become available.

Brush piling at the designated common area has been suspended until the Fall or Winter. Pothole repair will begin as soon as the weather cooperates with the maintenance committee’s availability.

Priority paving has been approved by the Board for roads or driveways that were affected by water pipe breaks. The chosen vendor is booked for many weeks however has placed us on the schedule for tentatively the end of Summer or early fall.

The Westbury Village Project Team continues to collect petition signatures to form a village municipality. If successful in collecting the majority of Westbury registered voter’s signatures to form a village/municipality this shall not affect the usual operation, Bylaws, Occupancy Agreement, Membership Agreement, Community Rules, or Articles of Association and should not affect the Westbury Homeowners Association Inc. loan agreement with ROC USA CAPITAL.

Please be mindful that your ESA dog is on a leash at all times.

The membership annual meeting date and time will be discussed at the next regular Board meeting.
