Energy Assistance Program

Do You Need Help With Your Heating Bills?

Dear Fellow Vermonter,

Winter is around the corner and I know many of you are worried about your heating bills. The good news is that assistance is available to help you and your family stay safe and warm through this winter season.

Vermont will be receiving $25.4 million in funding for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), the federal program that provides critical assistance for Vermonters and people across the country during the winter and summer months. In Vermont, LIHEAP can help cover seasonal fuel bills as well as assist with furnace and fuel tank replacements or repairs.

Below you will find key details and information for accessing LIHEAP as well as other fuel assistance programs and services, including in emergency situations. LIHEAP receives applications year round. To receive FULL benefits for THIS heating season, apply by November 30. If your application is received and approved between December 1 and February 28, you will receive pro-rated benefits for this heating season. See HERE to learn more and apply.
