Westbury January 2023 Recap

Action Without Meeting conducted to approve new homeowner on Coventry Road. passed unanimously

Treasurer’s report was provided for the month of December is available upon request for all Co-op members.

President attended VAHC, VFHA & Subcommittee Vermont Coalition to End Homelessness meetings. VERAP has been extended until June 2023 for those that qualify.

Holiday decoration contest winners and Family giveaway prizes were announced and all prizes have been claimed.

Village Project Team continues to collect Westbury registered voter’s petition signatures and will be submitting the petition to the town clerk for authenticity & accuracy very shortly prior to presenting the petition to the Selectboard.

CDI will be discussing the PRICE Fund that made it through the Omnibus Bill and what the means for Westbury shortly.

Water breaks that occurred during December & January have been repaired. Tree removal contracted will be completed soon weather permitting. Trees that pose harm or danger to persons or property will be evaluated on as-needed bases.

No new updates on the GMP obtaining transformers to complete the Coventry electrical work however our vendor & project manager is keeping close contact with GMP for updates

Our current project manager will be relocating and will not be participating in the development of the next planning of electrical upgrades. Our electrical vendor is keeping in close communication with the Vermont State electrical inspector for the development and approval of the next plans.

PMA continues to perform field inspections throughout the month and very few violations have occurred. Thanks to all for your cooperation.

The Maintenance Committee meeting for January 7th was canceled however weekly common ground clean up, tree branches, and small hazardous trees have been addressed and removed. Watermain shut-offs have been a challenge when water breaks occur. Discussions will be underway with our vendor to address maintenance & repair of the problematic shut-offs. Snow plow piling is being reevaluated and discussed with our vendor to assure they are using the map provided by PMA & the Maintenace committee.

Check your heat tape to make sure it’s working properly. Open all cabinet doors that are located on the exterior walls of your home. This will help prevent pipes from freezing.

Volunteer/Social Committee meetings are on Pause until April however a snow creation contest may be announced in February or March. There are 2 slots available for Westbury residents that could benefit from the Tuberville shopping & delivery service provided as well as 3 slots available for the Winter for pick up and delivery of CCFS orders for those that are registered and have challenges with transportation. The Maintenance committee will be placing (1) handicapped parking sign in front of the office building in the near future. In the meantime, please leave a space near the walkway for those that have difficulty with mobility to access the mailroom.
